Seven of our current rugby stars spent an action-packed long weekend at The Landing competing in a North V South fishing match up. They experienced exceptional food and wine and explored the beauty of the Bay of Islands.
It was a competition like no other when seven of our country’s biggest rugby stars headed to The Landing to take on an ITM Fishing Show challenge. Kieran Read, Sam Whitelock, Scott Barrett, Joe Moody, Ryan Crotty, Sam Cane and Dane Coles, along with their strength and conditioning coach Nick Gill, spent four days and three nights experiencing the best The Landing has to offer. They enjoyed wine-tastings, a history tour of the 1000-acre property, mountain-biking, hiking and basketball. They also ate lavish meals prepared by The Landing chefs. The 86-foot luxury charter yacht, Ata Rangi, was the fishing boat chosen by Team South. Appointed with everything expected in a five-star hotel, the boys embraced it straight away, making for a great day of fishing aboard.
