Introducing General Manager Tim Robinson

We get to know Tim: what his job entails and what he loves about it.

Your role is General Manager of The Landing: What does this entail?

I am responsible for the overall management of on-site activities at The Landing, including development, hospitality, maintenance, workshops, nursery and landscaping activities. I also work with the vineyard team and winemaker regarding all operational issues.

I manage the health and safety for all of The Landing companies, I do annual planning, budgeting, the list goes on!

How long have you been working at The Landing? 

Since 2005.

What previous roles did you have before becoming the General Manager at The Landing? 

I began work here as a landscaper then moved into gardening and have been Health and Safety officer for most of this time.

What do you enjoy about working at The Landing?

The people I work with and work for are great – I have worked with a lot of the team for over a decade and have built many strong relationships over that time.

The location! Enough said.

Being part of something of this calibre is very rewarding – I think the whole team feels this way, whatever our contribution is, we are all part of something to be very proud of.

What are your favourite things to do when you are not working? 

Swimming, cycling and family time.

What has been the most exciting development at The Landing since you started working there?

The whole process of watching the property evolve including:

  • Watching the landscape mature
  • The building of The Cooper Residence
  • The development of the Vineyard – seeing the land produce!
  • The development of the Hospitality business is particularly exciting – the property is destined to be used and enjoyed. There have been a lot of people involved and a lot of hard work over the years. I get a lot of satisfaction from knowing the property is being discovered and appreciated by our guests.
